Generators The generators listed are a selection of the most popular sizes sold by us. Covering sizes from 1kVA through to 12kVA these portable units will cover the majority of requirements. However if you cannot see a unit which fits your needs then please contact us directly as we can supply generators right up to several MVA if required. For a guide to generator type and choice please visit our generator information page on the UPS Systems main website here

Fuel Cell Power Generators Fuel cells are the next generation of "clean" power generator for many lower-power requiring uses and produce zero or extremely low emissions often just producing only pure water as a by-product.The smaller fuel cell generator ranges that UPS Systems offer produce power from 35 to 150W and use liquid methanol or bottled hydrogen and are extremely safe to use.Unlike a generator fuel cells have very few or no moving parts and are extremely quiet in use and require very low levels of mainrenance and servicing. For more information on the individual products and ranges follow the link above.

Off-Line UPS Less expensive, off-line UPS are usually considered less sophisticated than other UPS products. During normal operation the power will flow straight through the unit, and if the input voltage fails or fluctuates outside pre-set tolerances the UPS will then feed battery power via an inverter. When the mains power returns, the inverter is turned off and the output is switched back to mains. Typically there will be a break of between 4 and 10 milliseconds during transfer to and from the battery mode. For a guide to the different UPS technologies and more information on the right system to choose please visit the UPS Technologies page on our main website by clicking here

Freestanding Line Interactive UPS Line interactive UPS operate in a very similar fashion to an off-line UPS, except with the advantage of better filtering and power conditioning. Whilst not eliminating interference in the mains power, this technology reduces the impact of spikes, surges and sags. For a guide to the different UPS technologies and more information on the right system to choose please visit the UPS Technologies page on our main website by clicking here

Rackmounted Line Interactive UPS Line interactive UPS have the same features as freestanding versions (see above), but are designed for mounting in 19" racks adjacent to the IT systems they support. For a guide to the different UPS technologies and more information on the right system to choose please visit the UPS Technologies page on our main website by clicking here

Freestanding On-Line UPS On-line UPS are so-called because the inverter (the part which produces the AC output) is always on-line. They are much more reliable since, should the inverter fail, they simply drop back to mains power and sound an alarm. In addition, their double conversion design ensures excellent output power quality even when the incoming mains supply is poor or faulty. For a guide to the different UPS technologies and more information on the right system to choose please visit the UPS Technologies page on our main website by clicking here

Rackmounted On-Line UPS With the same features as freestanding on-line UPS (see above), rackmounted on-line UPS are designed for mounting in 19" racks - the equipment of choice for critical IT applications. For a guide to the different UPS technologies and more information on the right system to choose please visit the UPS Technologies page on our main website by clicking here
