UPS Systems plc staff Alicia Kent and Leanne Dolan have raised £745 in memory of former colleague James Ballantyne (Jim Bob) who tragically passed away in July this year after being involved in a road traffic collision. Funds are being raised by UPS Systems for the James Ballantyne Memorial Fund set up in memory of James. He was an Electronic Engineering graduate and the fund aims to help other young engineers fulfil their potential and attend University. Alicia and Leanne kick-started the fundraising at UPS Systems by signing up to the five mile multi terrain run in Swindon on the 11th October. Thanks to sponsorship from staff, friends, family and customers at The Tally Ho pub where James was a volunteer barman, they were able to more than treble their initial target of £200. Despite Leanne suffering from a bad cold, she, alongside Alicia, managed to complete the race in just over an hour.

"Leanne and I both really enjoyed the run, the weather conditions were perfect on the day and the support from the crowd really spurred us on throughout. "We're really grateful for all the donations, raising that much really made it all worth it. We were both very determined to cross the finish line with Jim Bob constantly in our thoughts Fundraising for The James Ballantyne Memorial Fund is set to continue throughout the year with various sweepstakes, auctions and much more planned to add to the £730 already raised.
