First standby power company to exhibit at IFSEC

UPS Systems has a proven track record of supplying standby power to the security industry. We work with industry leaders, such as ADT, Wingate to offer independent consultancy on how to ensure security systems remain operational at all times. Surveillance and CCTV, emergency lighting and access control systems all require a reliable source of power, particularly in the event of a mains failure. This year, UPS Systems was keen to demonstrate some of its latest technology currently available to the security industry and so last month we made our way up the M40 towards Birmingham NEC. IFSEC International opened its doors from 14th – 17th May 2012. It is the largest annual security event in the UK and this year attracted almost 25,000 visitors. Over 700 exhibitors from all sectors of the industry, many exhibiting for the first time,  were on show to demonstrate their latest products and take part in the show’s seminar and education programme. The exhibition space was divided into eight separate product areas - Access Control, CCTV, Counter Terror, IP and Network Security, Fire Solutions, Intruder Alarms, Lone Worker and Physical Security. This provided plenty of opportunities to network with leading industry specialists and make new friends in the security sector.
Fuel cell powered CCTV demonstration
During the event we attracted many visitors to our stand with a working demonstration of an off-grid CCTV system. The installation showcased a range of methanol fuel cells used to power CCTV cameras, DVRs and monitors. Fuel cells can provide an alternative and reliable source of stand-alone power for security systems, particularly those situated in remote locations without access to the mains grid. Typical examples might include CCTV networks at building sites, public highways, public events and festivals.
Maximising our marketing
Exhibiting at trade shows allow companies to maximise the impact of their marketing and PR activities. The show’s digital press office provided journalists with useful background information, case studies and news releases. During the show we announced our new range of EN 50171 compliant static inverters, which has been specifically designed to provide a source of independent power for security equipment, such as emergency lighting and other essential safety equipment. Keen to hear about our latest news announcements, journalists were also intrigued as to why a standby power company had set up shop at IFSEC. We had meetings with show sponsor info4security and other leading trade publications including In Security, CCTV Image, Risk UK and Professional Security Installer. These opportunities allowed us to explain to editors the importance of standby power, demonstrate some of our latest technology and highlight our expertise in the sector through customer references. IFSEC provided UPS Systems with the opportunity to talk to buyers, specifiers and security system integrators. It generated a significant number of quality sales leads and has already resulted in communicating our expertise in this sector through coverage in leading security publications.
