Having successfully completed the Swindon 5 mile multi terrain run in memory of former colleague James Ballantyne, UPS Systems Alicia Kent and Leanne Dolan travelled to Hungerford Newtown to collect sponsorship money from local country pub The Tally Ho.   UPS Systems are raising money for the James Ballantyne Memorial Fund set up in memory of James. He was an Electronic Engineering graduate and the fund aims to help other young engineers fulfil their potential and attend University. Alicia and Leanne kick-started the fundraising at UPS Systems by signing up to the five mile multi terrain run in Swindon on the 11th October. Thanks to sponsorship from staff, friends, family and customers at The Tally Ho, they were able to more than treble their initial target of £200. Despite Leanne suffering from a bad cold, she, alongside Alicia, managed to complete the race in just over an hour. The Tally Ho, where James worked as a volunteer barman, raised a total of £300 to sponsor Alicia and Leanne to take part in the run. Paula Woof, Director of the Tally Ho, said: James used to volunteer at the pub once a week, he was a valued member of staff and is very much missed. The girls have done really well to raise so much money, it’s been great to be able to contribute towards his memorial fund.

The money contributes to the £775 now raised in total by UPS Systems, all of which will go towards The James Ballantyne Memorial Fund, set up in in memory of James who was tragically taken away from us in July this year.  For any standby power enquires, please contact us.
