The IT facilities required an up to date protection solution to ensure that the system remains operational should the building experience a power outage.

UPS Systems proposed a 40kVA UPS system (40kW) with 3 internal strings of 40 x 90ah batteries to enable the critical I.T infrastructure to continue running should an outage arise. The 40kVA system provided offered a much more suitable rated and energy efficient system than the existing 125kVA system which was significantly oversized.

The existing system was decommissioned and the old UPS, batteries and EMBS were safely removed and disposed of. The UPS was supplied with an External Maintenance Bypass Switch (EMBS) which is an essential part of switchgear. This EMBS allows the UPS to be completely isolated with no interruption to the load for the required amount of time.

“Keeping the UPS systems update to date is essential to protect businesses from harmful power outages. ”
